Acute Injury Management

Early intervention following injury or surgery is critical in promoting the earliest return to function. MWHS Occupational Rehabilitation Providers are proud of our ability to provide quick, efficient access to physical therapy and occupational therapy services. Treatment interventions such as manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise to restore function and reduce impairment that are in line with the latest research and evidence may be provided to begin the rehabilitation process.
Patient education, instruction and participation in the rehabilitation process are cornerstones to our approach. Modalities such as electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, ultrasound and/or cryotherapy may also be integrated into the plan of care. These will be utilized only as substantiated for the diagnosis. MWHS Occupational Rehabilitation Providers consider all aspects of a patient’s occupation: performance skills, performance patterns, context, activity demands, and client factors through the process of evaluation and treatment. We collaborate with medical providers and medical case managers throughout the rehabilitation process.
