Motion Analysis
Human movement is varied and these individualized movement patterns make each of us unique. However, there are instances when our natural movement patterns are negatively altered by injury, disease processes, or rehabilitative surgery. These changes in motion are often difficult to detect and understand during normal observation. The Motion Analysis Laboratory at MWHS uses state-of-the art technology to accurately detect these small changes in movement patterns. This information can then be used to guide treatment focused on restoring a person’s normal movement pattern and ability perform daily functional tasks. Gait analysis, or the study of walking, is our most common form of motion analysis and can be done with or without assistive devices such as a cane or walker.
